The Challenge
Industry 2.0, with its global logistics flows, demands packaging systems that get heavy workpieces from suppliers or branch plants to their destination as cost-effectively and safely as possible. The usual standards of pallet and container specify the dimensions: Every centimeter is expensive, optimal packing density increases efficiency, and excellent stackability is a must. Often the container is going overseas or the workpieces have to be stored temporarily in external warehouses, so weather resistance plays a role. It must be a robust solution that provides safe and above all dry protection, especially for workpieces that are prone to corrosion or electronic components that can be damaged by moisture.
Solution
Thermoformed workpiece carriers made of recyclable plastic from Variotech have all the prerequisites to meet the requirements of demanding logistics managers. By further developing our proven Bear container system, which already offers very good dust and splash water protection, we were able to create an efficient solution for corrosion-sensitive components. The incorporated foam seal in combination with a pressure compensation valve protects the sensitive components from corrosion. The container retains the usual recyclability and is also still wash-resistant.

Armature frame
The continuous flow of forces due to armature struts prevents the trays from bulging and slipping into each other with heavier loads.
Centered stacking
The self-locking design of the upper edge and floor guarantees stacking that won’t twist and can be expanded with the height adjustment ring.
Water repellent
Thanks to angled frame bases, water can run off the frame unobstructed. The result: shorter drying times, prevention of corrosion.
Efficient cleaning
The one-piece design saves both complex separation of container and insert before cleaning and re-assembly of the parts after drying.
Individual height
The frame can be prepared in any height. Together with the modular intermediate covers, pallet floors and lids, virtually any configuration is possible.

Foam bead
The foam bead improves dust and splash water tightness of the container. Due to its positioning on the container, the foam bead cannot be compressed too much and has a good recovery capacity.
Pressure compensation valve
The pressure compensation valve with a special membrane ensures the removal of air humidity to the outside, which can occur due to condensation in the interior. This only works in combination with the foam bead.
